China Issues Generative AI Management Measures: Service Providers Must Complete Security Assessments

China's Cyberspace Administration released the final version of the Generative AI Service Management Measures, requiring all public-facing generative AI services to complete security assessments and algorithm filings before launch. Content safety requirements prohibit generating prohibited content such as political, violent, or pornographic material. Over 200 services have been filed, including major large models like ERNIE Bot and Tongyi Qianwen.
